Get involved: calling Meanwood-based businesses
1st June, 2022 - 11:55
Meanwood Valley Partnership are running a series of business engagement workshops over the summer to kick-start a new project: Greenwood!
Greenwood is a project run by Meanwood Valley Partnership, as climate change was identified as a key priority within the 2030 Vision for Meanwood project. Researchers from the University of Leeds are supporting the process (funded by the Leeds Institute of Social Sciences).
The Greenwood project aims to create online resources for Meanwood businesses to support them to reduce their climate impact, where awards will be given (Bamboo, Copper beech, Silver birch, and Oak) based on how many actions are implemented. The more actions implemented, the higher the award! To help us develop this resource, Meanwood Valley Partnership are running a series of workshops to explore what businesses are already doing well, what the barriers are to implementing climate actions, and what the opportunities are, in order to ensure that the resources are tailored to Meanwood businesses.
Greenwood is also providing a space for businesses to come together and share experiences and identify opportunities to work together and develop projects beneficial for both businesses and climate. The Greenwood project team will be on hand to support businesses through their climate action journey.
If you own or manage a business in the Meanwood area, please do consider coming to one or more workshops! Meanwood Valley Partnership are looking for your expertise and experience in running or managing businesses in Meanwood and absolutely no climate or environmental expertise is needed. You will receive your Bamboo award for attending a workshop and helping kick-start Greenwood!
