Kirkstall Valley Development Trust would like to develop over 55s social housing at Abbey Mills, the empty mill next to the Kirkstall Bridge Retail Park that is owned by the Council. The housing would be in the two thirds of the mill that is not earmarked for the community hub (central and lower blocks) and would be a low car use scheme.  An application for a Homes England grant will be submitted at the end of January to work up the scheme.

The Trust is keen that this project is community led and seeks to form a group of interested local residents (ideally people who may want to live there), to guide the development and create a real community on the site.
